School holiday dates published
Official school holiday dates for the year 2017-2018 have been released
The French Ministry of Education has published school holiday dates for the school year 2017-2018.
The school year will start on Monday, September 4, with Halloween holidays from Saturday, October 21, to Monday, November 6.
The Christmas holidays will be from Saturday, December 23, to Monday, January 8. The rest of the holiday dates depend on the zone the school is in.
For zone A (schools in Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers), the winter holidays will take place from Saturday, February 10, to Monday, February 26, 2018.
Easter holidays will begin on Saturday, April 7, ending on Monday, April 23.
For zone B (schools in Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg), the winter holidays will be from Saturday, February 24, to Monday, March 12, with Easter holidays running from Saturday, April 21, to Monday, May 7.
For zone C (Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse and Versailles), the winter holidays will take place from Saturday, February 17, to Monday, March 5, 2018, and the Easter holidays from Saturday, April 14, to Monday, April 30th.
For all pupils, the end of the school year will be on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
This plan may differ slightly in Corsica and French overseas departments, with their own authorities having the option of altering it.
