Stargazers unite for 'Nuits des étoiles'
More than 400 heaven-sent events taking place across France this weekend

Hundreds of stargazing activities are taking place across the country this weekend, as stargazers celebrate the 27th annual 'Nuits des étoiles'.
Thousands of people are expected to take part in more than 400 free events taking place across the country from Friday, July 28, until Sunday, July 30.
The event, which is organised by the Association Française d’Astronomie (AFA), this year has a 'Habitable Worlds' theme. It offers members of the public a chance to learn more about the universe around them.

If, however, you prefer to look up to the heavens alone, experts advice you find an elevated position, more than 15km from a built-up area. Then, all you need is something comfortable to sit on while looking up, such as a deckchair, a thermos flask with a warm drink, warm clothes and maybe a blanket. And clear skies!
