Thieves take plane made of chocolate
Scale model of Airbus A330 among ‘priceless’ works of master chocolatier lost when lorry trailer was steal in Arras
A REPLICA aeroplane made entirely of chocolate was taken when thieves stole a lorry trailer in Arras.
The 6m confection and four wearable dresses also made of chocolate were taken when the trailer - which was en route to an exhibition in Bearne - was stolen from its parking lot near the Pas-de-Calais city’s Christmas market, newspaper Voix du Nord reports.
The sculptures are the work of master chocolatier Bruno Rouly. He said: “I'm disgusted. The trailer, frankly I do not care, it's hardware. But what was in it, it is priceless.”
In total, a tonne of chocolate was taken.

The 1/10 scale model of the Airbus A330, which has gone on display across France, took an estimated 900 hours to make, while the dresses were the result of 300 hours work.
M Rouly said he remained determined to attend the Salon du chocolat de Beaune, which opens tomorrow. He said he would work day and night and call in help from friends and colleagues - including a world champion chocolatier - to create new chocolate sculptures to display at the event in the Côte-d’Or.
A police investigation has been launched.
