Third coronavirus fatality in France

The latest victim is an elderly woman

A woman in her eighties has become the third person in France to die of coronavirus, it is being reported.

The woman was from Crépy-en-Valois, according to reports, the same town as the second victim, a 60-year-old teacher, who died on February 26.

The first victim of the virus in France was an elderly tourist from China, who died on February 14.

As reported, the Ministry of Health said on Monday that 116 patients are being treated in hospital for the illness, which is officially referred to as Covid-19.

A further 12 have been treated and discharged.
