Thumbs up for France Telecom
Other readers have complained here, but my experience of France Telecom was superb.
LAST October I had finally had it with a very unstable internet connection and called the English help line at France Télécom.
The technician told me he needed to do some testing and would call back in an hour.
And so he did, informing me he had largely located the problem and that a service technician would be out within a week and no entry to the house was needed.
Imagine my surprise to see a technician outside the next morning, working on the box.
After half an hour he realised he did not have the equipment needed and promised a team would be looking after it within two weeks.
As I was flying out later in the week this was not an issue for me.
By 10.00 the next day, a team of two and a cherry-picker van was outside and after working for an hour in different locations of the village, the problem was fixed - less than 48 hours after the initial contact.
Better service than back in Canada. So in my book, both thumbs up for France Télécom.
