Water accounts compared
As a couple living in the Aude, our water accounts do not correspond to those stated by Mme Beautement (December).
The cost obviously depends upon such factors as time spent at home, watering of gardens, filling of pools etc, but our charges are quite consistent.
The three elements of
a) Water distribution, 40-44%;
b) Sewage collection & treatment, 46-47%; and c) Pollution & network agencies, 10-14% have varied little over the years.
I do not know how the mayor appears to have some say in these matters but would suggest that she regularly checks her meter reading, looks closely at the monthly ‘bilan de consommation m3’ and contacts Suez Service Client should charges fluctuate wildly.
