Is biometric information handed over for previous visas used for EES? 

Biometric data already handed over for previous long-stay visa applications (such as six-month VLS-TS visas) is unlikely to have been retained for EES.

It means even if you have previously given information such as fingerprints, you will need to do so again when registering for EES after October 12.

If you have provided this information to receive a residency permit (such as a ‘Brexit’ Card) remember that the EES does not apply to you. 

In general, once provided records will be kept and remain valid for a maximum of three years from the last date of exit from the Schengen Area. 

This means that as long as you enter the Schengen Zone once every three years, you will not need to give your details a second time. 

Note that the French government states that the collection of fingerprints for EES in the case of people visiting on short-stay Schengen visas is not essential as they will have already given these for their current visa.
