Karen Jones, Solutions (pictured above) explains.
I have lived in the Charente, France since 2003 with what was then a young family and experienced a variety of situations that have challenged home life, work life and health.
It is fair to say that I have gained plenty of knowledge and experience over the last 17 years.
With a good grasp of the French language, I often spent time helping people with their challenges, and this led me to create Solutions in 2015 to help others navigate through the bureaucracy here in France.
With various changes to working and living in France taking place over recent years, not to mention the B word, my knowledge, qualifications and experience has been put to good use.
From helping to register businesses, dealing with day to day living situations and the yearly tax returns for residents and non-residents.
Unfortunately, life is not always a bed of roses and living the dream can be compromised, such as health issues.
Having experienced a medical accident in 2004 and recently being treated for cancer here in France, I regularly assist people with medical issues and see the fear that people have when there is a language barrier. It is always reassuring for them to have someone to rely on to deal with phone calls, arrange appointments, translate and generally keep their morale up.
Tax can have my clients in a bit of a twist. What often starts off from a brief chat in the local bar can often end in errors, some financial, that need my expertise to resolve.
I have an accounting and legal background in the UK and France. My skills are invaluable during the April/May tax season here in France, which keeps my inbox busy. One size does not fit all, it is always best to seek expert advice before submitting your return.
With an increase in the number of people organising their move to France throughout the remainder of 2020, I am here to help provide practical Solutions when it comes to business registrations, for carte vitales and titre de sejours. It is important for me to keep up to date with the ever-changing requirements and laws that help new families settle here in France.
