See our map of areas that will be under lockdown in the Alpes-Maritimes for the next two weekends

Reader question: I live just outside Nice. Where precisely does the Alpes-Maritimes’ new weekend lockdown apply?
For the next two weekends there will be lockdown measures all along the Alpes-Maritimes’ coastline.
This new measure was announced on Monday, February 22, in order to stem the spread of Covid-19. The Alpes-Maritimes department has the highest rate of Covid cases per population of any department in mainland France.
Why so many cases in Alpes-Maritimes?
The lockdown will apply to 63 communes in the department, covering around 90% of the total population.
Villages and towns further from the coastline have been spared.
The map below shows which towns the weekend lockdown will apply to.
