Lidl baguettes recalled in France due to potential metal content risk

Anyone who recently bought a baguette céréales rustique should throw it away or return it to the shop

Lidl stores in various locations across France are recalling their baguette céréales rustique’ because of a potential risk of plastic or metal content within the bread.

These 250g baguettes should not be consumed because of a risk of injury, Lidl has said.

The baguettes were sold between May 3 and May 13. If you bought one within these dates, government alert service RappelConso recommends that you either throw it away or return it to the shop for a refund. You do not need to have retained the receipt.

A full list of the supermarkets included in the recall procedure can be found here.

Lidl has set up a helpline for people affected by this issue. It can be reached on 0800 900 343.

The recall will end on July 13.
