New homes have their advantages

ON reading the letter regarding ugly modern homes in the March edition I could not help feeling that the writer was a very arrogant and selfish person.

Yes, there are beautiful old houses to buy and renovate – we have just spent 10 years doing that. However, if we were a young family with jobs and a couple of children, no way could we afford the time and money on what we have accomplished. A modern house with modern, easy to maintain rooms and garden seems the logical solution.
