Candia milk bottles from French supermarket recalled
Batches of milk sold at French supermarket Auchan and made by the brand Candia Grandlait are being recalled due to a “suspect flavour and smell”.
The recall concerns semi-skimmed and whole milk batches sold in 1 litre and 1.5 litre bottles (individual and in packs of 4, 6, 8 or 10), consumer group 60 Millions de Consommateurs said this week. The group also tweeted an alert (below).

The products are thought to have been contaminated by bacteria, but this is not dangerous and “does not present any risk to the consumer”, Candia said.
Yet, it advised anyone who had bought the product not to drink it, and to bring it back to the same shop to get an exchange or refund.
The products concerned are:
- November use-by date: 06/11/2018F 13/11/2018F 16/11/2018F 17/11/2018F 22/11/2018F 30/11/2018F
- December use-by date: 01/12/2018F 04/12/2018F 11/12/2018F 12/12/2018F 19/12/2018F 22/12/2018F
All bottles with the letter “F” next to the use-by date are affected.
Consumers can also call the Candia after-service number for more information (in French) on 09 87 87 00 50.
