Two Montpellier students have become the first in France to pass a bac option in chess.
Benoît Couderc and David Sambuc, 17-year-olds at Joffre High, passed their exams following a 15 minute oral
test about chess strategies.
“There is no practical test,” their French teacher, Patrick Loubatière told France Bleu. “Players have proven their level in different tournaments.”
