Clocks go forward this weekend
France leaps into summer at 2am on Sunday - the day voters go to the polls for the second round of local elections
DON’T forget to put your clocks forward an hour this weekend.
Yes, it’s that time of year again, when - at 2am on Sunday - France officially makes the leap into summer, the same day as voters go to the polls for the second round of the local elections.
While Monday-Friday nine-to-fivers will lose an hour of their precious weekend, those on the night shift on Saturday night will enjoy a shorter working ‘day’.
The clocks are moved for Daylight Saving Time – often referred to as "Summer Time", "DST" or "Daylight Savings Time".
It is a way of making better use of the daylight in the evenings by setting the clocks forward one hour during the longer days of summer.
