Special Eurostar ski trains connecting London and the French Alps will return from next week as part of the ‘Eurostar Snow’ winter offering.
The service connects London with six train stations in the Alps via a transfer in Lille, allowing almost-direct passage to the Alps from London.
The trip, including the change in Lille, takes just under eight hours.
Beginning on Saturday December 20, Eurostar Snow trains depart London once per week on Saturdays (09:01), reaching the Alps by the late afternoon.
Return services leaving the Alps and heading to London are available on both Saturdays and Sundays for the 2025/2026 offering, providing greater flexibility for skiers.
Eurostar Snow runs from London until March 28 (the final return service leaving the Alps on April 4).
Tickets began at £99 one-way when first offered earlier this year, but now cost around £150 one-way depending on the destination station.
Flexible tickets, skis included
Passengers take a Eurostar train between London St Pancras and Lille Europe, before boarding a connecting service to the Alps.
This service is also run by Eurostar and runs to Bourg St Maurice, stopping at Chambéry, Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Landry.
These stations provide access to some iconic resorts including Megève, Méribel, Val Thorens, and Tignes, sometimes via shuttle services directly from the station (this is not included in the Eurostar Snow ticket).
All Eurostar Snow tickets include two pieces of luggage allowance, one piece of hand luggage, and one additional piece of ski equipment (skis or a snowboard) free of charge for travel on the train.
While Eurostar offers return journeys on the weekends until April 4, it is possible for travellers to make their way to Lille on a different day via SNCF-run services, or to leave London on a weekday/Sunday and return through a Eurostar Snow train from the Alps.
SNCF tickets can be bought through the Eurostar website.
Passengers are advised to reach London St Pancras early as some may need to register with the new EES digital border system.
