French minister's 'genital database'
Interior minister Brice Hortefeux refers to to genital prints instead of fingerprints in radio interview
INTERIOR minister Brice Hortefeux has become the latest French official to be caught out by a slip of the tongue, after he referred to a "database of genital prints" during a radio interview.
Hortefeux made the slip-up on RTL on Sunday night, when he accidentally mixed empreintes digitales (fingerprints) and génétiques (DNA records) to create empreintes génitales.
The video clip has been viewed 108,000 times on DailyMotion so far - some way short of the 2.8 million viewers who watched Rachida Dati's embarrassing slip of the tongue earlier this month.
The MEP and mayor of Paris's seventh arrondissement confused inflation with fellation during an appearance on a TV political discussion show.
She said France was "at a time when fellatio is close to zero".
Other recent slip-ups have included government spokesman Luc Chatel accidentally saying Nicolas Sarkozy had named him prime minister.
