Motorway drivers in concrete attack
Several dozen cars damaged by saboteur throwing blocks on to A4 motorway, but drivers escape without injury
DRIVERS on a motorway in the north of Paris have had a lucky escape after a saboteur threw blocks of concrete at them from a bridge.
The incident happened at about 5.00 on Thursday morning blocked the A4 near Noisy-le-Grand (Seine-Saint-Denis) for several hours and damaged 24 cars, but miraculously no one was injured.
Drivers reported seeing a man on the bridge crossing the motorway, dropping blocks of concrete about a metre long and 30cm high on to the carriageway below.
Three cars were directly hit by the falling blocks and another 21 vehicles damaged in the resulting collisions.
Police have yet to identify who was responsible for the attack. Some of the drivers attempted to chase him but he disappeared into nearby woodland.
