No ballot? Take urgent action
If you have not received your postal ballot you need to telephone your council urgently to seek a solution
IF YOU registered as a UK overseas voter and you requested a postal vote for the general election on May 7 but have not yet received the ballot you need to act urgently in view of the short time left.
With bank holidays in France tomorrow (Friday) and in the UK on Monday it is all the more pressing to get your votes in the post. It is therefore worrying that Connexion has now heard from a number of readers who have not yet received their ballots.
Having spoken to the Electoral Commission this afternoon, the best advice is to contact your local electoral registration office immediately asking to speak to the department dealing with the postal votes, and ask if they can provide an emergency solution.
The Electoral Commission said however that it will ultimately be down to individual electoral registration offices as to what, if anything, they can do.
We will update this article if we receive further advice.
