Supermarket wine recalled in France over glass shard risk

A red wine sold at several major supermarkets across France has been recalled over fears that shards of glass may be inside the bottle.

The wine – a 2023 Côtes du Rhône from the Cellier des Dauphins brand – was sold at stores including Leclerc, Carrefour, Casino, Intermarché, and Auchan among others. 

It was sold between January 16 and May 16 this year, and a full list of affected retailers can be found here.

The shards of glass that may be in the wine are due to a production default states official product recall site RappelConso.

Official advice is not to open or, if open, not to drink it as the shards can cause internal damage.

Customers who have bought an affected product can return it to the point of purchase for a full refund until May 31.
