Unemployment up by 90,200 in Jan
For two months the number of jobless has risen ever faster.
UNEMPLOYMENT in France rose by 90,200 in January.
The number is 4.3% greater than December’s figure and 15.4% higher than January 2008.
The total number of job seekers in France is now 2.2 million according to the Ministry for Employment.
In December unemployment rose 45,000.
The figures are taken from ‘category 1’ unemployed people – those without jobs who are immediately able to work and are looking for full-time jobs.
