Woman thanks Morlaix police for helping her find love

The anonymous woman tested positive for alcohol in a breathalyser test by the Morlaix police two years ago, and was then forced to share a car with a stranger after having her own licence taken away.

The anonymous postcard, apparently sent from a holiday in Italy in August 2017, simply explains the story:

“Positive test for alcohol at the end of 2015 --> car-sharing (because my license was suspended) --> romantic encounter --> two years later on a family holiday to Milan. Thank you from both of us.”

According to the police station’s records, three women had their licences taken away at the end of 2015, so the exact identity of the mystery postcard writer is still unknown.

The postcard now has pride of place on the wall of the station.

“We have been thanked for saving people’s lives before,” said Patrice Kerbrat, police chief of the station, talking to news source Ouest France. “But this is the first time we have received a thank you for taking someone’s licence away!”
