Sometimes the dates depend on the zone in which the school is located
Our graph below shows when France’s school holidays for the 2022 / 2023 academic year are, including when schools break up for the summer holidays this year.
School children around France all have their summer holidays at the same time, usually between early July and the beginning of September.
For other holidays, such as the winter holidays in February or the spring holidays in April, the country is split into three zones so that not everyone is on holiday at the same time.
