Sterilising cats is not a snip!
I read with interest your small article on the cost of cat sterilisation in France [Moving to and Living in France 2016]. Please tell me where I can get my cats sterilised for between €60 and €80. Both our nearest vets are quoting €150-€160 each cat, without any vaccinations included. I have two cats, so that would mean a total cost of €300-plus.

The Fondation Assistance aux Animaux in Bordeaux (05 56 06 54 15) offers affordable sterilisation. Otherwise, ask at your mairie about associations which sterilise cats or ring local vets asking if they belong to the “Vétérinaire pour tous” association, which partially defrays costs. Les Amis des Chats (www.les-amis-des-chats.com) issue €50 vouchers to help with the cost of sterilising a female cat, while Fondation Brigitte Bardot (fondationbrigittebardot.fr) sometimes meets part of the cost. Also try vet schools in Nantes and Toulouse.
