Woman, 19, dies in crash as wild boar crosses motorway near Toulouse
Two other people were seriously injured in the accident which happened in the rain

A woman aged 19 has died in a fatal collision after a boar crossed the motorway near Toulouse. Three vehicles were involved in the crash, leaving two other people seriously injured.
The crash took place shortly after midnight on Tuesday (October 24) on the A64 motorway in the Tarbes-Toulouse direction near Noé (Haute-Garonne).
The 19-year-old woman died at the scene.
Another victim, aged 25, had to be transferred as a matter of urgency to the hospital in Toulouse. A third victim, a 27-year-old woman, was also hospitalised in a relative emergency.
Three vehicles involved
The driver of one of the three cars could not have avoided the wild boar that was crossing the highway, causing a further accident with two other vehicles, according to initial findings.
16 firefighters and six rescue vehicles quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, where firefighters had to extricate the victims.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
Difficult traffic conditions
This collision occurred "in difficult traffic conditions. It was raining, the visibility was not good," said the police of the Departmental Road Safety Squad (EDSR) in charge of the investigation.
When the initial driver slammed on the brakes to avoid the boar, her car spun out and the two cars behind were unable to avoid the collision.
The victim was at the wheel of the first car, according to initial investigations carried out at the scene by the motorway police of Muret.
"The investigations, in particular with the interviews of witnesses, will have to confirm this," said an officer of the EDSR.
