Exasperated by behaviour of EDF
Energy company refuses to stick to appointments or admit faults and claims it never pays compensation.
We have travelled in and out of France and Europe for many years. We purchased land in France and were granted planning permission for a holiday home for our retirement years in the future.
Planning permission is granted on condition of services. EDF lost our contract papers, they did not turn up for pre-arranged site surveys. They moved the site of the meter requiring additional new trench, pipe and cable, with additional costs incurred.
The last date arranged was again not attended by EDF telling the French electrician: “We are not coming today we are too busy.” A particularly spiteful woman with EDF France has used racist bigoted comments. I have become so exasperated that I contacted the European Parliament which may question EDF France’s behaviour.
Is this normal from a monopoly company utilising complete contempt towards the customer, as no-one else is allowed to complete the works.
This has cost me some £1300 plus the EDF costs to supply connection. A company that says it pays no compensation, though I have negotiated some refund regarded as exceptional with further additional phone costs.
Is this normal? Is this a professional company? I am extremely concerned being at their mercy.
