France ends need for test for vaccinated arrivals from amber countries
This will affect travellers coming from the UK, Turkey, Ukraine, etc. It also applies to fully vaccinated travellers from red countries
France is ending the requirement for fully vaccinated people arriving from amber countries to have to provide a pre-departure Covid test.
The announcement came from the prime minister’s office today (July 17).
This will apply to people who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognised by the European Medicines Agency, which are Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, or vaccines recognised by the French health regulator as similar in composition and manufacture, notably the Indian version of the AstraZeneca vaccine usually marked as Covishield.
People fully vaccinated in amber countries travelling to France will only need to provide proof of their vaccination status and a completed ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur, on the French government website here) form self-certifying that you are not suffering from symptoms associated with coronavirus and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight.
People who are fully vaccinated with an EMA-authorised vaccine in red-listed countries will also only need to provide these two documents to travel to France.
As before, fully-vaccinated people coming from amber or red countries do not have to show an essential reason for coming to France, unlike those who are not fully-vaccinated.
