Can we do renovation work away from home?
Reader question: We have a renovation project house in a village 10km away from our home. We haven't been there since lockdown but really need to get back working on it. We wouldn't come into contact with anybody else, so would this be allowed?
Under present regulations no-one is allowed to travel from their home unless it is for one of the reasons listed on the confinement form, which would not include working on a renovation project as it is neither for work, urgent family reasons, medical care or shopping for essential items.
From May 11 the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe has said that everyone will be able to travel 100km from their home without a confinement form so anyone with this kind of project will have to wait until then.
