This week is World Immunisation Week 2022, an occasion used to highlight the collective action needed to promote vaccination uptake in order to protect people from disease.
To mark this year’s campaign, France’s health ministry has published a new calendar of the vaccinations recommended to people of different ages.
It includes ‘general’ recommendations, as well as ‘particular’ recommendations for people with specific health conditions or who work in certain, more exposed sectors.
The 2022 calendar contains a couple of new additions, including advice to pregnant women in their second or third trimester to be immunised against whooping cough. This will promote the transferral of antibodies to the foetus and therefore boost the baby’s defences when it is born.
Professionals who are exposed to risks such as swine and avian flu through their jobs are also encouraged to get their winter flu vaccination.
See below for a breakdown of the vaccines recommended to people over the age of 18 in France, not including those who are particularly exposed to certain diseases through their work.
You can find out more about the vaccinations recommended in France by reading this health ministry document (in French).
