Will loan payments pose problem?

I am preparing to apply for French citizenship. One section of the form relates to income. Part of my income is from a loan repayment from a limited company: it is not declared in the UK or France. If the examiners of my application compare French bank statements with French tax returns, they will see a difference – could it pose a problem? G.P.

There is nothing wrong with having a loan repayment, though in future if your income is very low it might be prudent to state on the income declaration form in the extra information box that you also receive loan repayments so as to avoid questions from the Fisc as to how you are managing to live. It may also be prudent to check there is a loan agreement showing the loan has been made, and the means by which it is to be repaid. There should be no problem but to avoid any issues around the authenticity of the repayments, you could attach a copy of this.
