Charity seeks to appoint a new Chair

Appointment of Chair to the Board of Trustees/Directors of the Hertford British Charitable Fund 

The Hertford British Charitable Fund or “HBCF” (previously, the Hertford British Hospital Corporation or “HBHC”) now incorporates the British Charitable Fund, Paris (with whom it merged on 1st January 2025) and is a UK registered charity whose purpose is to care for the wellbeing of British citizens and of other people with links to the UK who reside in France and find themselves in dire need. 

This is achieved through welfare grants to individuals and financial support to associations in France which perform similar work...

In anticipation of the retirement of the current Chair in 2026, the Trustees/Directors are seeking to make an appointment in 2025, allowing time for a hand over. 

• Significant experience required at senior management or board level

• Bilingual French/English

• Meetings take place in Paris and London

• 13 current Trustees/Directors are based in Paris area

• 3 year term with effect from June 2026 renewable

• Anticipated commitment is no less than 3 days per month

• This is an honorary position and reasonable expenses are reimbursed

• Interviews from late September 2025
