The British government has announced that it is planning to increase the fees for all passport applications from February 2, 2023.
Its proposals are subject to parliamentary approval so have not yet been confirmed for definite.
Standard online applications will rise from £75.50 to £82.50 for adults and from £49 to £53.50 for children.
Postal applications will increase from £85 to £93 for adults and £58.50 to £64 for children.
A government spokesperson told The Connexion that online overseas application prices will increase from £86 to £94 for adults while for children they will rise from £56 to £61.
These are the prices that are most relevant to British citizens living in France.

The £19.86 courier fee will not be affected by the change in prices, the spokesperson added.
The Home Office has said that the new prices will help it to “move towards a system that meets its costs through those who use it, reducing reliance on funding from general taxation.
“The fees will also contribute to the cost of processing passport applications, consular support overseas, including for lost and stolen passports and the cost of processing British citizens at UK borders.”
