Homemade garden fire protection system in France
A Connexion reader shares their solution to the threat of wildfires to their garden this summer
After reading your recent article on drought crisis and wildfire threats, I thought I would pass on a project I undertook to contain a small garden fire until the pompiers arrive on the scene.
Our house has six outside taps with garden hoses.
I fitted all of them with quick release couplings of the same size.
I also purchased coupling connectors so that I could connect several hoses together if needed, and added inexpensive plastic nozzles.
This all worked so well that I did the same thing to my neighbours’ hoses.
This is a simple, fast and cheap way to build the first line of defence in case of a fire. I hope you will pass it on to your readers.
