Local air traffic control strikes

A walkout by staff in regional air traffic control centres is causing disruption to flights in to and out of France

LOCAL strikes by air traffic controllers are disrupting flights in France.

While the main air traffic controllers' union, the SNCTA is not on strike, walk-outs by members of other unions are causing staff shortages.

Airlines are advising passengers to check the status of their flights online.

During the last strike of September 7, the SNCTA said controllers were free to choose, with the result of some delays and cancellations to flights.

A national strike is due on September 23.
