Not fooled by green soft soap
Following on from your web article about hotel soap recycling (French group recycles five tonnes of unused hotel soap), I have noticed that many hotels change those little bars every day, whether or not the room has changed occupant.
I’ve lost count of the number of times that I have opened a small bar to wash hands when I arrive at a hotel, use the soap that evening and again in the morning, and when I return that evening, I find my hardly used soap bar has gone and a new, wrapped, one in its place.
Ironically, this usually takes place in hotels that have signs in the bathroom telling me all about “how green [the hotel] is” and how I should “reuse my towels to save the planet”.
