Wash hands - and speak to your GP if you have a fever
The best first aid for Covid-19 is to not catch it in the first place. Here is the key advice:
Wash your hands often
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand gel. This kills the virus.
Maintain social distance
Do not shake hands. Keep a metre distance from others, especially anyone coughing or sneezing. This can avoid breathing in any virus in the spray of droplets.
Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth
Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth and then into your body.
Practise respiratory hygiene
Sneeze into your bent elbow or a tissue, then get rid of the tissue immediately. This way, you protect others.
Fever, tired and have a cough?
Stay home, call GP, and avoid contact with others. Follow the GP’s advice. If struggling to breathe, call 15 (emergency Samu) or local health line.
