Removal companies to stop work in France
The work of professional removal companies has been banned during the Covid-19 epidemic, it has been announced.
It can only be maintained in exceptional situations, such as for emergency sanitary reasons, for necessary company moves or for moves which are essential in the context of organising care during the epidemic, said France’s Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.
The decision aims to stop the spread of infection and comes after a complaint from the professional sector which said that the conditions of removal workers do not allow them to be able to always respect the barrier gestures.
President of the union governing the removal sector, the Chambre syndicale du déménagement, Thierry Gros, had written to the Transport Minister, asking him to prohibit moving, two weeks ago.
It means removal work is banned “until further notice”.
